Why we exist

A small team, doing the work properly

The Gilded Spire is a small, independent publication. We do not have a large editorial floor or a roster of correspondents — what we have is a genuine interest in industry news and analysis, and a commitment to covering it carefully and honestly. We look at what is happening across industries, try to understand what it actually means, and write it up in a way that is useful to you rather than impressive-sounding.

Being small means we are selective. We would rather cover fewer things well than race to have an opinion on everything. When we publish something, it is because we have spent real time with it — reading, questioning, and making sure we understand it before we ask you to. That is the standard we hold ourselves to, and it is one we think is worth keeping.

Integrity

We say what we find, not what is convenient. If the evidence points somewhere uncomfortable, we follow it there — and we are always upfront about what we know and what we don't.

Original research

We do not rehash what everyone else has already written. We dig into primary sources, read the studies, and put in the work so that what you read here is genuinely ours — and genuinely useful.

Plain language

Good ideas do not need to hide behind jargon. We write the way we would talk to a smart friend — clearly, directly, and without making you feel like you need a glossary to keep up.
